Hello Everyone;
I’m Dinil Abeygunawardane, someone who is very much passionate about communication, especially via visual means.
I was born, raised and had my early education in the southern Sri Lankan city of Matara. For my higher education, I attended the University of Colombo and graduated with a degree in Medicine. Later on, I migrated to Australia, where I worked as a full-time medical doctor, part-time freelance photographer and a colour management adviser.
Photography was a field I got into as a schoolboy in 1987, and I still am a keen student of the art, craft and the science of photography!
After years of contemplating and doing a few part-time experimental projects, I decided to take a complete detour from medicine in 2013 to explore my passions and interests in the areas of Photography and Multimedia Communication.
My last full-time employment in Medicine was in Perth Western Australia in the field of Emergency Medicine.
We started our educational institute, the Institute of Multimedia Education in January 2016. A couple of years later, based on another idea that came to mind, Sukitha Lifestyle Medicine was launched.
My first website, Visible Range was launched in 2008. Some of the contents of this website had been the blog of Visible Range until early 2013.
I try to create content for this blog whenever I get a bit of time away from other projects.
I currently live in Colombo Sri Lanka with my wife and two daughters.
Thanks for visiting Struck by Light, I’m really grateful for your valuable time and your interest in my work.
